How to set or modify the communication method for a client

With Plannit, you can communicate with your client by email and or SMS depending on your plan and clients preference.

Written by Plannit IT

Here's how to define or modify the communication method in your customer's contact record.

Default notification preferences

With Plannit, you can communicate with your customers by email (available on all plans) or by text/SMS (offered as an option on all plans).

Go to Settings > Regional settings. Under Contact notification preferences, the Default notification preferences section sets how your contacts are notified:

  • SMS notifications (requires the SMS option)

  • Email notifications

  • Vocal message notifications

These preferences apply automatically to all your contacts, unless otherwise specified on the contact.

Overriding the default on a single contact

You can adjust the notification preferences of an individual contact directly in their contact record. What you set on a contact takes priority over your default preferences, and applies to that contact only. Your other contacts keep following the default.

Note

Changing your default preferences does not erase the choices you have already made on individual contacts. A contact that has been set explicitly keeps its own preferences.

Choosing at the time of sending

You will also have the option to enabling or disabling SMS sending (or email sending) by checking or unchecking the option at the time of sending as follows:

Your clients will then receive your communications according to your selection.
